A mix between roots music from Brazil and urban cultures like hip hop, dub and bass lusic: Sociedade Recreativa is the unexpected blend between nordestine Trans of franco-brazilian band Forró de Rebeca with beats, basses and effects of the North American producer Maga Bo. Hybrid, eclectic, their music explores new sound horizons, juxtaposing electronic textures and rustic instruments like berimbau, rabeca or viola. Their first album, released in April of 2016 by the French record label Jarring Effects, have been cheered by specialized press (Songlines, Télérama, Les Inrocks,...) and widely diffused by djs and radios, placing the album in the Top 20 of prestigious Transglobal World Music Charts during months. On stage, we feel the power of sound system culture, allied to the sophistication of ancestral rhythms and melodies from Brazil Nordeste. A winning bet which seduced London, Paris, Geneva and Copenhagen. The tour kept up to Brazil, passing by Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Recife. A journey full of meetings with the best of Brazilian electro scene. The live experience gave life to a second album, leaning on dancefloor. Sociativa , to be released in February 1rst of 2019 by Jarring Effects, shows once again the band dexterity in not altering tradition by electronica. Meetings done on the road enrich the album, like the puckish violon of Mestre Luiz Paixao or the glowing voice of Mozambican singer Gata Misteriosa. Afro-Brazilian incantations push by futurist beats, samba tunes hijacked by super powered bass, Amerindian rituals amplified by digital effects, this new album push far away the meeting between Brazilian Nordeste and urban cultures. Especially created for dancefloors, these 10 tracks will transport you in an imaginary territory, populated by fantastic realism and archetypal divinities. On stage, Sociedade Recreativa take the shape of a multidisciplinary collective, incorporating the delirium of the video maker Marcelo Valente and the ardor of talented dancer Tereza Azevedo. The will be on tour from February 2019, beginning by Europe and Brazil to defend this new album. SIDE A : A1. EMBOLA PEDRA SIDE B : B1 CAPOAREIA A2. CATARINA SAMBA B2.
